I'll let you know.. Mine arrives Monday.

The big thing is the resonance. I had fabspeeds on my regular 996 and they did sound great but the headaches I got driving it in the highway made me stay away this time.

For a daily D it's certainly got less resonance than other exhausts (the RuF also) but it's just so darn heavy, that my piggy doesn't need the extra weight:P

Is europipe worth the money? Yes it is.

however, depends what u're looking for. if u want really loud & don't care about resonance then Europipe might not be the one for u.

the way i see Europipe, our TT should sound like it from the factory, means the exhaust is not too loud & still maintain the Porsche sound, plus the built quality is at or beyond OEM level.

so, what do u want the car sounds like?

This is Joe @ Fabspeed Motorsport.
Our systems all feature 100 CELL German imported racecats. The exhaust backpressure is 60% less than factory and lower than all other aftermarket exhaust systems for 996 Twin Turbos.

In each & every horsepower and torque DYNO TEST-- Fabspeed exhausts have significantly outperformed other brands. The performance results are public domain and solid in all aspects.

In addition, our systems are modular and allow for 3 different sound levels and are 100% the easiest systems to install and adjust the sound levels.

Have a great day

Simply put... Europipe is worth the money. If you like loud and annoying fabspeed is the way to go. Takes the Porsche sound out of the exhaust. Once you install the remorse will dissappear and be replaced with a smile from ear to ear. The cold start... well that's the best part of my morning.

The Europipe site advertises a reduction of over 60% at 3000 and 5000 rpm.

I am sorry, but it did not out perform the Europipe on my car. I was close but not cigar.

My ears are still ringing from the Fabspeed loud, couldnt tolerate it. I guess Im just getting too old. I reinstalled my stock exhaust until I can figure out if a performance aftermarket exhaust exists that does not carry resonance and drone.

Joe,

I don't think this issue is performance. The issue is resonance and drone. The Fabspeed is well known to have very high levels of each.

This topic keeps coming up, again and again. If the issue isn't performance, then keep the stock exhaust. How a given exhaust system sounds is a very individual matter; after all "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Performance, on the other hand, can be quantified. And it is on that basis that the Fabspeed performs. It is among the best performing systems, ESPECIALLY when price is considered.

Heya Chad,

Which Fabspeed did you test btw? I don't remember if it was quiet, loud or the straight pipes?

TIA...

The fact that is was close is cool though. Factor that with the advantage in weight and do I get a cigar

sharkster,

I don't remember either. It was when they first came out with the modular pieces using the clamps. I believe it was late 2001 or early 2002. It was not the straight pipes.

I love my ep 2 loud and bought it after hearing the techart (may have taken the TA more seriously but by design was giving me outrageous quotes that day). I do like the way Rodis' car sounds very much.

The fabspeed data that I think that Stephen from Imagine Auto obtained was for a stage iv chipped car (correct me if I am wrong) and I felt that while the hp gains were impressive, I couldn't think of a good way to extrapolate h gains/losses on a stock car so I went with the ep.

cold start up is bliss
at 4100 rpm to wot -- amazing

go to some meets and get in car time. they sound much different inside and out and good luck.

EP II quiet ... exotic, never resonant, matures with age, and has NO build quality issues, otherwise it is like the other exhaust co.s.

I dont think its outrageous to expect an aftermarket "performance" exhaust to add significant performance without the irritating resonance and drone. IMHO it takes away from the driving enjoyment.
