I think we should just ask if Sharkey could become a "stockist" of said OEM compatible parts....perhaps the exclusive vendor in the USA.....he'd get every 6speeder and then much of the DE crowd running OEM hardware...then the rest of people as these would just make a lot of sense. It is a win, win.

I for one would like to know that in a crunch, I could get a set fedex'ed to me....somebody someplace always has 2-3 sets and parts, if you will.

If not Alex, perhaps Kevin at UMW. Both guys are super.

Well needless to say, coleman wont allow me to do it with a non racing business.

Someone needs to do something though. How come no feedback from the vendors?

I'm going to just get some for me if this doesnt take flight. From what Mike has posted, they obviously take individual orders as well.

Wow, a lot has happened with this thread in the 5 days since I last visited. I have a automotive related business (while official, it really amounts to just a hobby). I would be happy to facilitate a group buy without increasing the cost for everyone, but I am busy enough with my normal occupation as a physician. I need to read through this thread a little more carefullyand look at the options. It will make it a lot more simple if we can agree on one single setup for the order. The problem currently I see is that I have 4-piston calipers.

RoadsterDoc, the Rotor hat needs to be 12 bolt 8inch diameter pattern, and Coleman will custom make the rotor hat off an existing OEM rotor.

If you need any other tech info, let me know.

To those who were interested in the GT3 caliper I had for sale, it's been sold to JonB!

I'll give it two weeks, then I'm ordering.

Doc, they arent really looking at this in group buy terms. They are looking for a relationship with a shop as their dealer, of course group buys can be arranged from there. If you can get that relationship I imagine it would surely be beneficial for you.

I think we can get enough orders in both sizes.

RoadsterDoc, i too want the stock 996tt brake caliper setup. I think i would focus on two different setups.

Setup 1: the stock996tt setup
Setup 2: the 2005+ gt3 caliper setup

When i spoke to them they seemed interested in setting up a relationship and certainly if there were 5+ more orders they said there would be an additional setup. Irrespective i'm in for a front and rear axle both....

I'd be interested (depending on price) in front rotors for GT3 calipers (350 mm) and rear rotors for stock turbo calipers (330 mm).

If you do a rear two piece rotor you give up your e-brake...

I'm in for a set of the 350mm front rotors.

I have some GT3 calipers on the way from Mikelly and Suncoast.

Thanks!

ok. Alex (Sharkwerks) was very helfpul and did quite a bit of research. It appears that another well respected company has been planning a product that has been race tested. I've spoken to them and I do not want to preannounce their product (i'll let them do that) but it appears that they have a solution for the front & rear (keeping parking brake) and that it may have superior attributes to it than what we've been contemplating.

I'm working on pricing. Availability appears to be excellent!

As specifics come available I will post here and i'll start a similar post on rennlist so that we aggregate our "group buying" power.

The other benefit is that this company is willing to do a group buy. More to come soon.

The rears, other than being heavy, wear quite well and have have not been changed on my car since I bought it, and that includes doing 15 track days in the last 12 months.

I'll be all ears to see what a vendor releases, but it's really simple for members to handle something like this themselves. I'm not knocking the vendors and encourage their participation in something like this. I just hope the price doesn't increase due to the myriad issues involved with being a company, and essentially a middleman in this scenario.

Mike
