Traded the 996tt for a GT2 today

It all happened so quick, a good one came up and I went for it.

2002, Arctic with black leather, Ceramics, Tubi, Leather embossed recaros.

Looking forward returning to RWD but I know probably will not be able to cover ground as quickly in the wet!

I have massively enjoyed the turbo and have absolutely NO complaints about the car whatsoever its just that the GT2 is my dream car so I knew one day I would be own one.

Can not wait to pick her up!

congrats. I am forever peeved at Porsche for releasing the 996tt first, just
when I had the money for it, without at least announcing/hinting at the
soon-to-come GT2.

thanks guys,

I will be sure to watch the throttle out of corners untill I can understand the car better.

Is it possible to replace the ceramic discs with steel discs without changing calipers?

Will post some pics once I have her.

Yes, you can change discs and keep the same calipers, but if you do, you will have to change pads.

Why would you want to get rid of the ceramics though???

I have heard a few people having problems on track with the ceramics.

Another question I have is: I have seen the carbon wings for around $1000, are these easy to fit to a GT2? bolt on bolt off??

And is the quality good?

Thanks for all of the warnings to take it easy. I am going to get here out on track ASAP and explore the oversteer.

Yup you want to swap those ceramics out if yuo track the car. The ceramics do a wonderful job of stopping, but you will eat thru that very expensive set of rotors in a hurry if you do more than a track day or two... Get the performance Friction Floating disc and pad combo, or the Porsche cup car Rotor setup!

Rotors pads and tires are all track day consumables... So unless you want to spend $4K twice per year, put them on the shelf and re-install them when you go to sell the car!
