So does the Gen 3 exhaust have 100 or 200 cell cats?

BTW, I just ordered a set of those enlarged oval tips from you guys...they look badass...I can't wait to get them!!!

Why was the cats changed to 100 cell to 200? If its it just for noise purposes, then why wasnt the 100cell kept and the sliencer made well more of a sliencer?

Also if im right and being an anorak- the joins from the cats to the mufller are different from the Gen1.
The Gen1 has flat faces that join but the latest version they look like they are grooved, I guess for a better seal (if you are concered about that!)

The Supersport Gen.1 exhaust is a single canister/100 Cell catalytics exhaust system. Very loud and aggressive and makes the most horsepower.
The "quiet" Ver. 2 Maxflo Exhaust comes with 200 cell catalytics and is a two can system. This exhaust was designed for the TipTronic/Cabriolet vehicles but can also fit a 6spd. This exhaust is suitable for enthusiasts who are content with a non-aggressive sound for their twin turbo.
The Sport Gen. 3 Maxflo Exhaust is also a two can system designed to be lighter/more aggressive for the enthusiasts who have a 6spd. This system contains less internals than the Ver. 2 and makes +5hp over the Ver. 2 system.

The Generation 1 &2 exhaust were both single can mufflers and very loud, but made a ton of horsepower.
Our new Generation 3 exhaust is a twin can system but comes in 2 different Versions. Version 2 is for tiptronic and Cabriolet model cars. Version 3 is our moderate sound exhaust system for 6-speed cars.

I just bought 2 used Fabspeeds.

Both have the 100cell cats but one has two long single cylinder type mufflers (not like the new version) and the other has one one big cylinder type.

Is this two different versions of Gen1?

Miles, the first one you mention is the real deal (LOUD), the second is a quiet model. If you ever get ahold of the exhaust shootout that Stephen did (Fabspeed LOUD won BTW) it has pictures of both systems.

Not quite, the LOUD (Super Sport) is actually a twin-can design, only they are welded together externally.......and yes, because of the "straight through" design they make HUGE power

Thanks very much for the feedback, I just recently took off my gen 1 from my tip as the drone was too much for me (have had it on for quite a while). At WOT it is phenomenal though. Am back to the original exhaust, which I now find too quiet.

May give the Quiet Version 2 a try. Could you please highlight what are the differences between that and the original stock exhaust in terms of sound, drone and performance?

Either way I have kept the Gen 1 as I know from time to time I will put it back on just for fun.

Cheers! You are the man and its great because the Loud one was making over 105db not good for the track! (so ill try the other one)

What is your track's limit? I ask because I finally got the vortex cones put in mine, and they are rated to reduce sound by 3 db. It also reduced the resonance by about 25% (a guesstimate).

Well Sliverstone is 105db and BrandsHatch GP is 101 or 105 for Indy circuit... some are even 98db!
Thats why I bought 2 different fabspeeds- you mix and match mufflers & cats to get to the db threshold.
I havent heard about the Vortex system...
