Straight Pipes for MEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Straight pipes are cool, only time I wish I had them was at the track, but then hearing my car on video pulling away from the garage, on the straights and so on was good enough, it's still loud but without being unbearable..
Haha very true! I guess my turbo with the K16's played a big part in its sound too, it just sounded all ****ed up and weird, not like a K24 or hybrid car I heard with straight pipes, could have just been my setup (FVD straights off the tiny K16's)
Dez, it is the BEST upgrade I have ever done to my car. It takes off over 50 pounds where the car needs it, is cheap, best hp you can get. the turbos spool faster. on the track I see no low end torque loss.
the car sounds awesome and is way easier to heel toe shift at the track with the good sounds.
In my mind there have been no drawbacks. since track cars no one can complain about the noise.
I still drive to sebring over 100 miles away. radio and in cabin conversation is no real problem
It is not for the faint of heart which you aint!!!
You will really love it!!!

Anyways his exhaust did sound freaking incredible....for the 1 second I could hear it before I shifted into 3rd and took off with him
Then I was deaf for a few minutes hahaha
Funny story. So this past weekend Im driving to the Saturday morning meets, just cruising mind you, and I glance over and what do I see? A freaking silver RUF GT2 (720 hp)!!! I was shocked. What are the chances of seeing another GT2 on the road?!?!

So no cats on your car?
I wonder if you could route the pipe(s) from left turbo to right exhaust tip etc. to get benefits but maybe a bit less noise. I had bypass pipes on the 993TT and loved it. Any thoughts as how these compare to the 993TT with bypass's? Noise wise.

Yeh its a real Ruf packaged car. If my memory serves correctly it was 720hp. I know it was over 700 !!!!! He comes out to the meets every once in a while. Very nice guy, and he is a silent member on this board. ****, he lives within 10 miles of me haha
As if getting passed by Matt wasnt hard enough, the car had to sound better than mine as well.

I cant take both, so I'm going to take the lesser of the two for now.
Easier this way.

Matt's car sounded crazy and his skill is even crazier, some day :/
I have no problem running with the 700HP turbo's since the mods. Power to weight ratio is key
Do you guys with straight pipes buy headache medication in bulk or what???
I drove a GT700 996tt w/ straight pipes on a 3 hour road trip and the drone was simply unbearable. This is coming from a guy who had a straight pipe on his 930 for 2 years without a complaint.
