(1) If the boost gains are 1.2 Bar on the 996GT2. What are the boost gains on the 996TT?

(2) Also, when you want to revert back to the stock program, say when you need to take the car into the dealer, do you go through the same process as when you downloaded the Softronic flash?

Then once you get it back from the dealer, reload the Softronic again. How often can you do this back and forth of the 2 programs? Unlimited?

(3) I've continued to wait to GIAC flash my 996TT due to the potential of other malfunctions that could occur, what are some known issues on the Softronic?

Sorry for the short response on my iPhone.

You can flash back to your stock map and then your upgrade map as many times. Just follow the same instructions.

You will go to 1.0 bar with the tt flash.

1. It is my understanding that the Softronic Flash adjusts itself automatically(?) when I put in 100 octane fuel to optimize the engine for this higher octane. And I presume it will automatically adjust itself back when I put in 93 octane pump fuel. Just wanted to be clear on this.

2. If for some odd reason, it seemed like my car ran 'faster' with it's original GIAC flash, would I be able to revert back to this flash, or will it be destroyed forever?

Thank you,

Dan
Dan, as a representative of G.I.A.C.'s oldest dealer, let me chime in.

I would suggest having your ECU flashed back to stock before loading on a competitors program. Reason I say this is because the chip that stores the program on the DME is 1 megabyte. That is a lot of information.

You must be certain that Softronic is overwriting the entire program. If it does not, the Softronic maps may conflict with the G.I.A.C. I am not 100% sure, but I may have seen that Softronic reads and flashes ~64K.

As for going back, that is also going to be a problem. You will have to visit a G.I.A.C. flash center to do so.

If you are unhappy with your current setup, please let us know. What is it that you don't like? How can we help?

We hope that you continue to remain a G.I.A.C. client, but if you choose to go elsewhere, please be do your homework.

I hope this helps with your decision.

Thank you.

The Softronic software reads out 64K -or the whole program if desired for compliance checking in Racing and other Porsche requests. The Softronic flashing though ALWAYS overwrites the entire range. This can be used for the tuned files or as an original to correct other tuned files that had resided in it as trial software. They are also the only company that flashes the entire program back to stock when desired rather than switching to a car running as a stock.

Best Regards,

This offer is for the remainder of April 2008 for Softronic ECU flash including a FREE Diagnostic (Durametic) ECU Flash cable which is a $265 value. This is for all 996TT, X50, GT2, K24/18G, AP 650 or AP 700 ECU Flashes. - Total price is $1995

First, how does the Softronic ECU Flash work? Simple, once you receive your cable, plug it into your OBDII Port and a Windows laptop with internet and follow these instructions - http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...?cID=10&pID=45. No need to remove your ECU, go to a shop, or have downtime with your car. You keep access to your stock file, no need to purchase a seperate race file since Softronic tunes off the factory knock and oxygen sensor. If you decide to upgrade turbos or make major modifications, only $300 for the revision!

Reflashing your stock K16 Turbo 996TT will gain you about 80HP and 90ft/lbs of torque. Add diverter valves, an intake kit, and exhaust to see almost a 110HP gain.

Now what is the Diagnostic Software good for???
Reset service reminders
Reads diagnostic trouble codes
Displays actual values
Shows ECU information
Clears diagnostic trouble codes
Turns off check engine light
Turns off airbag light
Actvates functions (Drive Links)

What systems does it work on?
DME
Airbag
ABS
Tiptronic
Alarm
Seat Memory
Heating & A/C
And more...

Can it really turn off my airbag light?
YES! Not only can the system turn off the airbag light but it can tell you why it is on in the first place.

How is your product different from the OBD2 products available?
Our product communicates with your car just like the factory tool does, and can access all of the systems in the car. OBD2 was created for emissions related problems and only covers a limited subset of your car's engine.

Is this still possible to order? I`m located in Sweden, would it be a problem?

Thanks

Also I'm wondering what kind of numbers you are getting on cars with k24's, exhaust, DV's, FPR and intake? Just wondering how much HP the hybrids are worth and if I really need to go that far. I would be happy with +500awhp, is that out of reach with standard k24's (on a dynojet)?

with the K24's and those associated mods on our dyno you see about 460awhp. with the K24/18G you see about 510awhp. If you have the turbos all you need is to send them in to be upgraded and a 5bar fpr. That additional cost is around $1350. if you want 500awhp no matter what dyno, you need to get the hybrids. PM me your info or send paypal for the amount to dan@vividracing.com $1995 + $1350 + $40 (shipping). I will give you the info where to send your turbos too.

Thanks for the info Dan. I actually haven't found the k24 cores yet, do you offer a complete k24/18 turbo (with no core charge)? If so I think I'd just like to go that route. I already have DV's, intake, 5 bar fpr (haven't installed yet) and I'll be doing boost hoses so I think I'm all set for 500awhp? Appreciate the response!
