What tires for street and a few track days
Everyone has an opinion....after much research and debate, I am going with Michelin PS2's. They are not cheap....the only real issue. GT2 sizing is supposed to be fine (235 in front, 315 in back, N2 spec at TireRack).
I am intrigued by cost issues always, and the htr ZIII are quite cheap....225/295....
Anyway, if money is not an issue or you just want the best (I am in the latter category, money is an issue at 400 a tire....rears...) M-ps2. If not, there are some cheaper tires or tires that last longer.
At the zone2 DE, most of the senior instructors and some very good drivers on this forum who are not yet instructors pushed the PS2.
Note: I am assuming STREET tire and not R compound. It gets cold and wet is Indiana....if you want R compound.....see other posts to follow.

Tom Kerr hit the nail on the head and many of us understand the tradeoffs.
Hell, I have even driven to and from Brainderd on Hoosier R6's and it was downright
frightening once it started raining (on city highways).
I think for many Michelin PS2 will work fine for street and some track days.
Costco has a sale on all Michelins currently and Tire Rack and Wheel Enhancement
always do a good job as well.
I am actually going to see how far I can take my PS2's this year at the first Porsche
track day.

Street / track tire
I ran Falken RT615's on my NSX for about 3 track seasons and they were also my street tire. Probably one of the best street/track tires in my experience and the price is incredible. I was happy with PS2's on my GT2 last year but I now use r-compounds for the track (Kumho V700's).
+1.......I have alot of experience with Nitto's in the rain. And trust me they are not the best tires in the world for the wet. Tried 2 diffrent Nitto's for my truck and both have the same performance in the rain. But when its nice and dry out they get traction pretty damn well.

RT615...checked out the pricing..thank you.. Wow. Anyone else use these? Amazing price....I am sure they are not as good as a PS2...but if 95%....
My DE time is for fun and learning...if I am 5s slower per lap it will not bother me at all...as I don't time myselft at all.
