996tt sg 700
hello 996tt ppl... i am facing a dilemma, I currently own a 2003 996tt with the SG700 kit, pss9's, REAL gt2 front and rear conversion,HRE 542's, europipe, and a bunch of other goodies. Now after about a year of modding and tuning the car , it finally runs and looks great exactly to my specs. All of a sudden im getting the exotic itch, literally a day doesn't pass where i'm not thinking of a lamborghini. Now heres the question, I have around 40k + worth of mods into my 996tt plus what i paid for the car, should I man up and take the loss? part the car and sell it for less of a loss? or just keep my car and scratch the itch later....BTW the 996tt is my weekend car (part of the reason I'm thinking of letting it go too). Oh and keeping the turbo and buying the lambo is not an option. No more garage space! WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO?????
man hard to say ..only you will know wether to keep it or sell it for a lambo obviously they are both great cars.. i can understand wanting a lambo cuase it has crossed through my mind a few times also...
with that beeing said ... if you do choose to go through the lambo route , and you do wanna make up some of the money you have put in your car , best thing is to part out . if you realy dont want to or dont care about making some of that money back then man up and take the loss. cuase when you do sell it as is you will not get nearly as much as if you had parted it out.. i know cuase thats what i did with my m3.either way , good luck.

weekend car...cruise around...some spirited drives...never been a track type of guy. Im debating between the murcielago or maybe a f430 ....those are the two vehicles constantly harrassing my thoughts.
Depends on the depreciation hit you are comfortable with. Own your current TT and take a $40K depreciation hit when you sell it one day or take that hit sooner and then absorb yet another $100K on the Lamborghini. The repair bills there will make your Porsche repairs look minimal by comparison. Lamborghinis (Murci's) run around $3-5.00 per mile to drive. In 10K miles you'd be hard pressed to not spend $30-$50K in maintenance and other operating costs. Assuming that's no issue, you have to decide weather or not you feel good about absorbing another $100K in depreciation. Everyone has a number that they're fine with.
It really does not matter what any has to say on this matter. It will be your heart and your wallet making the choice!!!

Was thinking of it men, and finally today I cracked on a beautiful immaculate 2004 575 on a color I never saw..As i m using my 996TT mostly on the track, was looking for another style of drive..tried Gallardo, nice car, but too small for me..the murcielago is amazing, but not what you look for to cruise quiet on the week-end...Italian are amazing car, but none can come even close on the pleasure I have to drive the TT..I m a keeper, and this car will stay with me forever...try a 430 spyder, it will make the trick, but if you really want another dream GT...vantage...:-)TC
solution. consider selling your car to me. i am been looking for a car such as yours for a while. have seen some nice cars but not the one i want. looking for super clean with mods, techart or gt2 bumper.
Who are you referring too?
Lamborghini
John should be @ Alex's tech session with the blue Murci (his 3rd Murci) so you can get a CLOSER look.
