Question Spark plugs potentially dangerous?

According to my service schedule plugs change is @ 80K kilometres or @ 50K miles. I was told a scary story the other day that if you don’t change them on time or before even, that the plug tip might melt and drop into the block ruining the engine. Shall we call it BS or not? If cars are tuned should they be changed earlier - heat related?

996twin_sc is infamous around these parts
Plug change according to service should be 30k if I'm not mistaken.

Every 30k miles is recommended...if they last that long.

Exactly.

I would recommend changing more frequently then 30k.

I did mine at 25k. They looked quite bad....Beru OEM. I put in Bosch FR6LDC (I cannot remember the exact model...what Kevin at UMW told me to do....).

I think if you "use" the car or have more than OEM boost...the plugs need more frequent attention.....
