I can't wait to see how the 3rd IC performs at Watkins Glen in October. I suspect it will not be a problem anyway since the weather will be cooler, but the cooler intake charge the better.
Alex,
Regarding the hot air, my concern is not while driving, but when stopped. When driving, I believe the hot air is sucked out. Plus, this engine is water cooled by the flow through the front radiators. When stopped with the engine off, however, the air can probably get a little trapped I guess although it can still get out the rear vent. I am probably just over-analyzing this.

Ken, I think I don't understand. The purpose of the third intercooler is lowering intake charge temps. This is only significant when under boost, usually full boost. Particularly on hot days at full boost, the intake charge can get too hot leading to heat soak and possible detonation. The third intercooler is designed to lower intake charge temps, and this is irrelevant at idle as your not in boost. The water/fan does the cooling there. Since I'm sure you know this, what am I missing something.
Tim,
You are 100% correct. The only "SMALL" concern is the absence of the rear deck fan (must be removed for this installation) and its effect on the build up of hot air in the engine bay due to the engine's temp. The charge air temp. under boost while driving is another matter that is not the point of this concern. I never understood the reason for the rear deck electric fan since the engine is water cooled by the front radiators. Stephen Kaspar once told me the 996 rear deck fan blows the air in the opposite direction as all of the previous air cooled 911 series cars' fans.
Bottom line, when sitting idling, does the hot air produced by the engine build up in the engine bay without the factory rear deck fan?
