Smile Postive threads rule: five nice stories.

1. Getting JIC Cross based stage III suspension system from Dan at Vivid with a front H&R and his drop links (if too noisy, the plan is TRG).

I email him to see if he could give my local master mechanic any advice to take time off the install (12->5 hours......). He replies via cell phone and calls my shop while on vacation to help me.

2. Kevin (KPG): Via my UMW contacts Kevin helps me get a slave and accumulator FAST. I mean faster than I could (almost) drive across town and get it from a dealer with overnight service....). The Kevin (of UMW) also diagnosed and helped me super fast...the PITA of the repair, etc. He educated me. This is just an example of one enthusiast helping another.

3. (sort of part of 2) Others, including PorschePHD continue to help me in things like the slave, suspension, exhausts.... He and his team are great.

4. Sean 996 has been awesome in the world of helping me pick suspension. Others (Tom Kerr, Sechsgang, Datax, and Heavychevy) too.

5. I called S-Car-Go about the tranny cooler pictured....talked at length. For my 20-40 minute stints, he felt I'd never benefit....and would not suggest I buy it. Coolest name in our hobby IMHO though. Very cool t-shirts and license plate frames......even with drilling for rennline tow hooks.

So, lots of way nice, helpful people. I think the strength of the site, and of this subforum, is the help and kindness. These are great cars, but they are expensive and complex....so sharing wisdom really helps people like me make choices and avoid pitfalls.

Thank you to everyone mentioned and not mentioned.

OK.....

Steve Russell at Suncoast has gone out of his way to help me countless times. The last time he overnighted a MAF to me after me leaving him a voicemail at 430 in the afternoon. No credit card number, just a voicemail. Calls back just before 5 and apologizes for not getting back earlier but said there was only one MAF left and he was running around grabbing it and getting it overnighted before FedX got there. Unbelievable service AND the best prices in the country. Plenty of companies [and some sponsors here] could learn a thing or two from the guys at Suncoast!

slant911 is infamous around these parts
Definitely Kevin at UMW. I've talked his ear off over the past year. Always there to help even in emergencies on Sunday (yep answered his phone on Sunday afternoon for me).

The other is sunset imports. Parts are priced good, shipping is always fast, and the people on the other end of the phone are very knowledgeable.

Finally, my local guy Kent at Premier Sportscar Service. Great guy to sit and chat with. He is a guy who will forget more about these cars then I'll ever know. I love going over to his shop at times and just hanging out when I have free time. There are always some tasty things to look at. Hell Fred's cars alone are worth the trip
