What would you do? Say, you just purchased a car from a broker via EBAY. The company that sold the car to you also sold you a warranty that was essentially worthless...didnt offer any more coverage than the car already had ($3k). You find out this tidbit and ask for your $3k back...they agree and send you a check. Meanwhile you eventually get your car and for various other reasons send a negative comment on the sellers EBAY rating. You, for instance, then go and cash your check and find out a stop payment has been placed on your check. Next you call the owner of the company and he states that unless you retract your negative rating, you AINT getting yo money. If you retract your statement then he will wire the $.

I would retract the negative feedback if you can, get the money, then complain to eBay about what happened. It has an extensive complint procedure that is separate from negative feedback.

I am interested to hear other opinions of what I should do. In my mind what is happening to me is extortion. The seller is hoping I wont want to invest the time in persuing his a$$ and just cave in to make the whole thing go away. Normally that is, i'm ashamed to say, what I would do. I'm just afraid if I give him the positive comment, I will never see any of that $ anyway. The seller has demonstrated that I cant trust him.
