What is the difference between Polar Silver and Arctic Silver?

Is Arctic slightly darker than Polar? I've looked at pictures of people's cars on here in both colors, but to be honest I find it hard to tell the difference.

Polar has a slight blue in it. Try to look at both Fred and Endra's TT

Fred has Artic and Endra has Polar

Thanks, that one comparison picture really shows the difference. The blue tint really shows up. I guess artic silver is what I'm really after, though seal grey and black are not far behind.

The real difference between polar and arctic silver is $3070.00,
still can't figure that out.

polar is a "special paint" and thus the surcharge. I still get door dings with the polar just like any other car. The real thing is to look at two cars side by side. that helped me a lot. also imho the arctic is very similar to many other silvers out there by different car companies. good luck, both will serve you well if they wrap up a turbo!!

I've had both

My previous Porsche a '95 993 C2 was in Polar Silver, my current '01 996TT is Arctic. As the other folks say the Polar has a blue tint and to my eyes perhaps a bit more "metal flake" to it as well.

I must say on a personal preference I really like the Polar Silver best when choosing between the two hues. I think it was only something like $1,500 as an option in '95?

Artic silver is just so popular, if I hadn't went with Seal Grey, I would definitely go for the Polar Silver. More unique and very appealing to the eye.

I believe Polar Silver is the color of the car in the Salt Lake poster. I wish I had gotten Polar. It makes the TT glow. Beautiful.
