Worst car transaction you've made ...
Worst transaction
What timing. It's happening now as I write this and has been dragging on for much too long. Unfortunately, it involves a transaction with a long time board member and I want to give him every opportunity to make things right. It could get ugly. I hope not...
sold a fram off resto bb 66 corvette for way to little then the guy gave me a 3 thousand check un signed as part payment.. that was 5 years ago.. still no 3 grand and this was a friend ????? well the cash is still in the market and doing well so i guess it was not that bad
Well now i have the s65 so i can get over it
Buying my now gone 2001 Lotus Esprit Turbo... Beautiful car, but there was definately work done to it that didn't show in the CarFax. Alot of repainted parts that I didn't notice at the dealership. And the paint didn't match exactly on multiple parts. Electrical problems all the time. Car war usually in my garage or in the shop. Never got it working 100% despite changing the ECU, Throttle Position Sensor, adjusted the throttle cable and pedal, replaced all O2 sensors, and cats. Dealership couldn't figure it out either.
Bought a new 2005 Lotus Elise (with 300 miles) in January of '06 for $45,000. Traded it in last December for only $23,000. The odo only read 2,003 miles when I delivered it to the dealer. 1,703 miles vs. $22,000 in depreciation...I still feel the pain. The Lotus was absolutely pristine.
I keep on telling myself that's the last automobile impulse buy I'll ever make.

Right now I am thinking my worst purchase is a pristine 930 that I am currently trying to sell. I cant seem to give the thing away. I paid 36K for it 1 year ago. I have had offers of 28 to 30 and passed. I have never lost bad on any used Porsche so maybe I am due to loose on this one ?? I was figuring that these older turbos had done all the depreciating that they were going to do. So it is not just the newer turbos that are falling in price. I have about decided to just keep it and drive the snot out of it!!!!

Buying a freaking 2001 Audi S4- worst car ever in terms of mechanical problems. Bought it with 30k miles. Traded it in (at a huge loss) one year later after 10k in repairs. AUDI = POS.
Shank,
That RS6 is indeed perfect. The Mono 10 continue to be my favorite wheels of all time. The only think on that car I question is the transmission. Did you ever regret that it was an auto?

I had a pristine 07 997 Turbo coupe in GT Silver loaded with options that I bought in March 07, only to trade it in on an 08 997 Turbo in Cobalt blue. I then traded that in on a 996 GT3, which I now have as well as a GT3 RS and 996 GT2, both of which I just bought used. You can tell that I am nuts. Lost about 25% of the 07 Turbo's value on the trade for the 2nd 2008 turbo. What an idiot!
