Worst car transaction you've made ...
Bought a 93 Honda Prelude years ago from an out of state auction that showed 58k miles, when it got to me, it had 158k miles.... fine print basically said I'm out of luck. Oh well, I didn't lose any money on it when sold.
ouch! hear it's a great car though
I don't think anyone on this board is old enought to have bought an XKE
New $95k, I bought it a couple years ago for $50k and now bids are sub $30k (in Canada).
I remember talking to used car dealers and they said those cars drop in value like "lead balloons"...they're right. Never again.
Selling the Boss!! Found myself in a bit of a financial bind and had to sell the car, I sold if for what I thought at the time was a fair price, it then changed hands shortly after twice for about 50% more than I sold it for.. It's not so much the financial side of the transaction that makes it the worst I've ever made, it is sorely missing the car and having to sell it in the first place.
Thankfully, years later, owning the 966TT has helped heal some of the wounds!

When did you sell her?
Aug 2006, bought a 2007 e63 mb amg for $91,000. Traded car 10 months later, for $75,000, for a CPO 996tt for $71,000 which is now worth maybe $60,000 another 10 months later.
27,000 in 20 months, part realized/part unrealized-F_CK!!!

At 20, I sold my Kawasaki ZX-7 to a person that gave me a fake cashiers check. Turned out his wife stole blank checks from her job and they went around all of San Diego buying up bikes and selling them in Mexico.
Secret Service and FBI never caught them and I was out of luck. The crappy thing was that a I bought a 69 440 Charger that same week and the guy called me to tell me that my check bounced. Had to return the car and borrow a family car until I could recoup the loss, took awhile back then.
Lesson: Meet the buyer at their bank and get the check directly from the cashier or better yet have them transfer the dough electronically right to your account.
