Occasional Brake Fluid Warning (goes away)

Hi all.

Has anyone ever had and diagnosed an occasional false (as far as I can tell)
brake fluid Warning light? My fluid is fresh and to the top of the reservoir, and
my pedal feel is fine, and this only happens immediately after some maximum
cornering with slaloming and maximum G force. The light goes away soon
after the car is parked or idled.
I do remember an occasion when I provoked multiple failure lights, PSM,
ABS, Brake Fluid, and maybe more, when I did a long skidpad session to tune
tire pressures. Apparently the inside front wheel was staying continually
air-born long enough for the system to consider it AWOL...

I had the exact same problem and at recent driving school. Talked to my mechanic and he said not to worry. Told me to top off brake fluid (above suggested level) to avoid this happening. I found it distracting to be going around the track with a red light on the dashboard but eventually just started ignoring it.

I agree. Not long ago the low brake fluid warning light would come on, always associated with heavy braking. The master BF resevoir was within range but I added a bit more and since then the warning has not returned.

Exactly the same for me. All the way to the top and it goes away.

I had that happen when my '02 TT was new; the dealer reprogrammed something in the electronic system and it never came back. That was after all the ' ignore it, add more fluid, etc' items were tried.

Rookie quesiton - I noticed my brake fluid level was on the margin, what kind/weight of fluid does one use for these cars, anything special?

With an '03 you'll want to top it off with some from the dealer unless you wan to flush the lines.

And...mine does it at the track too.

I have this happen every track day I attend, and the faster I go, the harder I push, the more the warning comes on... I generally have to clear it twice per session every session.

Yea, uh track pads don't cure this issue... It's in the hydraulic system.

Over the winter I plan to replace both the brake and clutch master cylinders with the updated parts. I think the 2001-2002 had issues with air getting in past the seal on the cap... I've replaced the cap and still have that "low pressure" warning light come on all the time when I'm at the track.

check brake fluid light during hot laps

This link is a few years old but didn't see any fix other than overfill.

I had the "check brake fluid" light cone on after several of my track outings on Monday usually ~15mins in. Everything else was in order and it would go away once cooled down.

New pads/rotors/fluid/tires and all properly broken in.
