Hey,

Mine is GT2 like as well and thru Ferdinand himself, I was able to have them ship
my car to Arkansas for my special "hillbilly tune". It looks exactly like a 996 Turbo
but is very GT2 like except for its exterior, interior, suspension, drivetrain and handling
characteristics. I basically told them to make me a safe GT2...I knew eventually I could
make a fortune when I sold it.

This car was on ebay 6 weeks ago with a similar format listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220220893528

At that time I asked about the GT2 status and was told "Many upgrades were performed in order to get 500hp, DME, Exhaust, Turbos, Pulleys etc. No aftermarket parts, everything was done by Porsche".

I was watching the auction closely the last time and it was mysteriously canceled at the last hour with "error in listing" as the reason. The bidding was only in the low $50s at that time. Funny, if you compare the two listings the original costs of the added options seem to have gone up.

My mindset was/is consider it as a low mileage 2001 TT with some mods, never mind the sales pitch. I'm in the market for an 01/02/03 TT and if I somehow end up with that car, I promise the first mod I'll do is to remove the "GT2" emblem on the back.

I'd stay away from that one on ebay. bad juju there.
Look local for one from a reputable place and get a good pre-purchase inspection that knows the turbo.
