DTL, what year is your car? (it may be in your sig, but I have that turned off). If it is newer than '04 it does not need the TSB.

Did everyone get their keyless remote issues resolved with the dealership 'recall' service? My keyless remote does not work at all, even though the red light flashes (with new battery) .

Mine only works when it wants.

Same exact symptoms. New battery, light flashes, only works when it wants to.

Just started happening one day. It's so frustrating.

There was a mod the dealers did with the earlier 996 series to increase the range (rerouting the antenna wire up the door pillar I think). I think It was a service note (or whatever Porsche call them).

I sometimes find with RF remotes, you hold them up to your neck the range increases (using the body as an antenna).
my range increases when i out the key near my crotch!! lol

$230 for a key?! No thanks...that pays for a track day or a new tire needed afterward . I'll just open the doors the old fashioned way .

Hmmm... that's a pretty cheap tire.

Referring to you earlier post on this topic, I think that you lost the program when you changed the battery. That's supposedly what happened to mine. You have to go to Porsche for the reprogram, as far as I can tell. I've learned to live with it. If people want to dis me for opening the car with the key, it's ok with me.

You just need someone with PST2 or PIWIS...some indy's have this and won't screw you.

Not to change the subject but porsche techs told me you couldn't get the horn to beep when you lock up (PITA), my car guys fixed it not sure what they did.

Is there a way to unlock both doors with the key, from the drivers door?

It be nice if I could do that without getting in the car to open the other door for my special lady friend.
