Springs vs. wait and get PSS9 or equivalent??
Hey guys, Im told by several buddies that if I lower with H&R springs (which I already have new in box) that I will only benefit by aesthetics. Will the car really ride terrible? I did notice a much stiffer ride when I put on the rear sway bar and placed on the most aggressive setting. How much stiffer do you think it will get?
My pal Silvershark thinks that I should wait and get the good stuff. Im not tracking but do want to get the best at a reasonable trade off. (car already handles great with AWD and sway bar) I can put in the springs myself and align it for $200 rather than $2200 total for PSS9.
Roads here are okay but not great.....
Thanks guys!

I have h&r's on my 996tts cab and pss10's on my 996tt coupe and even on the hardest setting the coupe still feels/handles better than the cab. I can't articulate exactly what the diff is except it just better. If possible future track use I'd save up for the coilovers. GL.
I have PSS9's and am very happy with them. I expected the car to be a lot stiffer, but that wasn't the case at all. I don't think it's any firmer than stock, which is fine by me. The car feels more solid and planted now.
If you are looking to slam the car, PSS9's aren't for you, as you can only lower the car about 1.25" with them. If you go lower than that, you will hit the bump-stops on bumps and dips. If you are looking for a good coilover system for the street with light track use, I would consider PSS9's.

FYI H&R lowering springs have a softer rate than stock springs thats why they ride harsh.
Consider the PSS9 kit if thats what you truly want, another good option is the JIC cross kit for street use.
If you are considering just a lowering spring and the car has over 30k miles chances it will need dampers as well. Might as well do the C/O kit in Pss9 form or JIC kit.
PS I have a JIC kit that was used for a photoshoot for 996TT in stock and would sell it a very very very fair price. Contact me directly for pricing,
