Coolest car I have ever driven

This Lotus 340R is by far the coolest thing I have ever driven. I got the chance to drive it from the show back to my friends shop (guy who does work on my turbo) which is like a 20 min drive. This car is unbelievable, there are only 6 in the US(340 total)!!!! The car is not street legal, but with a dealer plate anything is legal . The car has 190HP (I4) and weighs 1250LBS!!!!!!! The car handles like(and basically is) a go kart. I pulled up to an E36 M3 conv, tried to egg him on to race, and all I got was the look of: "WTF is that thing" . Well I think he was a bit stunned cause when I took off, he was still stoped at the light . Anyway here are some pics, and a link to a site with the specs of the car:

Lotus 340R Specs.
Regards,
Evan

Pretty cool Evan!
I am looking at the harnesses and trying to figure out how they attach together. I do not see any plug-ins. How do they work?

Sorry, I see what you mean now, you are looking for the actual plugsins. They are under those harnesess. The harnesses are adjusted pretty tight, so the extra (slack) is covering them...

it actually has 180bhp and weighs 1500lbs

i've driven one also and must say that it's an unbelievable car. I came very close to buying one as a track car but just couldn't justify the expense for something i couldn't drive on the street. If anyone is interested in one i know of one for sale ($55k).

The wieght and HP changes from every site, or person you talk to. Also, I found out that he too is asking 55k for this car (but again, really doesn't want to sell it). Car was amazing....

All 340r models brought into the US by Lotus were the 192hp spec motor. They were sold in Europe as 177 or 192hp spec.

The car weighs 701kg full of fuel.

so that's the car from NY? I was going to make him an offer on it but decided that the $$$ just didn't work for me right now. If Lotus drops the ball on the U.S. Elise i may get more serious about the 340r. I would absolutely LOVE to own one, but the lack of street plates would really be a pain for me right now.

As far as I know the car is not from NY, but I could be wrong. He has had the car for 2 years so.... Hey man, you gotta get yourself a dealer plate, make almost anything street legal .

A)Nope, he has enough people to spend his money

B)Nah, our dealership doesn't participate in stuff like that . I am not even a PCA member, I gotta sign up one of these days....
