Another H-Town Turbo!
Another H-Town Turbo!
Closed a deal yesterday on an 01 Turbo with 17,000 miles. Porsche Certified for two years and 50K miles. I guess that probably won't matter too much once I start donating to Protomotive.
My plans include going for the 650 package so I don't get embarrased by the rest of the Houston boys.
Hopefully i'll have the car here in town by the end of the week. I'm certainly going to miss my M3 but I think the turbo will fill the void nicely. Can't wait to start contributing on a more technical level in the near future.

Congrats, and let me know when you want to meet the crew. But why didn't you buy the full Proto 700 GT2 that is for sale at Momentum? Are there issues? The asking price was only 106 so I bet you could have gotten it for less.
I paid less than half of that for the car I ended up with. I know i've got a long way to go with the mods. But I figure thats half the fun of it. Plus i'm getting a car that I know was well taken care of and i've got a few months to make sure everything is sound before I start the modding with the comfort of a warranty. I'd love to meet up with you guys soon though when I get the car. I've driven Dr. Joe's car out at MSR so I know i've got a long way to go!!

Thanks Adam!! I'm looking forward to joining the proto gang.
Gotcha, Ben. The car at Momentum is incredible, but I am sure you are concerned about a car that puts 660 to the wheels. I mean they didn't build it to just put around driving to church on Sunday.
You should talk to me and Paulie about your mod plans. The Proto 650 is the best bang for the buck IMO. The only issue is : Are you going to ship it to AR or have someone local do the bolt ons and then an e-mail tune.

As for the modding, I probably won't ship the car as my best friend here in town who actually lives with me at the moment works for one of the biggest car collectors in the country maintaining anything you could think of and he is pretty handy with Porsches. He will do all the labor FREE so I can't beat that. I'd certainly love to talk with you and Paulie and pick your brains as well as get intouch with Todd K. and create a plan of attack. It's going to be fun though thats for damn sure.
Excellent Ben, look forward to meeting you. We need to try and talk Todd into working with your friend. Right now there are just 2 people in town that Todd will work with.
Oh, by the way, did you meet Nina?

I met Diane? ...... She was very attractive herself. They've picked their staff wisely.
My buddy has credentials I think would put Todd's mind at ease. At least I hope they would. Not only has he raced professionally but he wrenches on the best of the best all day everyday. When the time comes perhaps you can help me with introducing that idea to Todd. I'll let you know when I get the car. With the holiday weekend coming up it could be as late as early next week but i'm hoping it might end up in Houston before the weekend.
