Radiator problems
Since I refilled the coolant with approx 2.5Litres of coolant after I got a Low Coolant Level warning, I check my coolant level every weekend after I run the car when the engine is cold. I have to refill approx 200mls every week (when the engine is cold). I got a pressure test on the system and there seems to be no problems. I now notice small amounts of coolant near both front tires on the ground.
Is there an overflow at these points? Am i putting too much coolant in when the engine is cold? Can there be a problem with the thermostat?

[quote=Westy;1943393]Please tell me I'm missing something here... OK Reading the first post it mentions water near both front wheels... Yep front wheels... Now as I understand Porsche never put an engine in the front did they??
Hi... Have to love the humor....We have notice that the 996 TT will let combustion gases past the head gasket and not let the water in . I would check if you have anything floating in or on the bottom of the tank.... I hope I am wrong! 1.1/2 bar and a little bad gas ( lower then 94/3) and you run a good chance of getting some detonation and that head gasket is going to pay the price! Tim

Hijack out!
I had the same and got them changed before a driving holiday covering 2,500 miles. They weren't dripping, but were producing that horrible 'radiator' smell when we got out of the car. Also, I was given the option to only replace 2 as the middle one looked OK, but changed all 3 given the luck I've had of late.
It's a common fault apparantly caused by all the crud collecting in the front and slowly corroding the radiators, and I was told need changing every 5-6 years depending on useage and conditions etc.

Finally found out that the left and right were both leaking. The middle was OK but decided to replace all three as well as the coolant hoses in the engine. Better to be safe than sorry.
