Just saw an interesting Police interaction

Just shaking my head.

My wife and I were on our bikes at an intersection with 3 other bikers when a cop pulled up on the curb space to shoot speeders. After a bit there was a group of 3 cars that went by, all at the same speed and not much over if any (by line of sight guessing). The cop pulled out and of the 3 cars (Mini Van, Suburban, Older Trans Am) he went right for the Trans AM. All of us agreed that he was going just as fast as anyone else. Just go for the sports car.

I don't know, it just didn't sit right with me. If I were in that pack they would have gone for me as I was the sports car? Profiling man!

Carry on...............

Thumbs down Unfortunately I have seen this many times

and they were always either my wife or I.

We will be driving along within a pack (2-3 other cars) and see a cop approaching from the opposite side or parked along side the road .... 1st car, non-sport .. no radar. Repeat for 2nd and 3rd vehicle which aren't sport cars either .... NO Radar!!

But when the cop sees us .... he lights us up with Radar / Laser!

Guess that's life as a sports car owner!

I learned when I was 16 driving an M3 and being that young was a deadly combination. It became predictable. Enjoyed the attention though. I finally told myself they were just admiring the car. Five years later I daily drive a Toyota and what can I say. No problems. Its been awhile since I've been pulled over. Oh thats right, the M3's been under a cover for nearly two years. So nice not get tickets anymore!

That's human nature. People who want attention will get attention. Cops are attracted to fast cars just as they are attracted to good looking women on the street. We (most male sports car drivers) are pretty much that way too

Actually, I have had the opposite experience. I was following a minivan on 5 and the cop pulled the minivan over

Yeah, but I have a roll bar, recaros and muffler bypasses. So it's not for lack of trying.

Funny how little attention was paid by law enforcement officers towards my torch red/torch red Corvette. Now that I'm driving a 996 things are quite different. In a one week period of time I had three police officers pull out to follow me (suburban roads, at speed limit). My wife thought I was nuts until we went to dinner in Bethesda on a Friday night. Sure enough a police officer pulls a u-turn on Wisconsin Avenue and follows us to the parking garage.

If i'm in the 360 I get pulled all the time for doing 15km/h over, just because its a ferrari. If I'm in the H1 I can be doing 25 over and they dont even look twice....

Sheriff friend admits he would pull me over out of a pack. Why? Because he figures I can afford the ticket.
