Yeah! That is a total non-starter for me.

I am surprised the seller mentioned it. I'd demand a copy of the body shop work order that describes the work done. Might not be a big deal.

No need to jump on this. Should be around for a few months... unless the seller takes the 50k offer (and the buyer doesn't realize the 2nd gear issue costs 7-10k).

I'm pretty sure he has little to no knowledge of the car he has. He told me "i was told is has the power package which cost like an extra $17k from the factory." I asked him to get me the option codes from the hood sticker but never heard back.

I think this one is pretty much out.

Power package?

Sounds like something out of an old **** movie.

Surely he can't mean the X-50 which would make this car a steal.

Hahaha. Sean your porno name is ___?

Again, take a look at my car. It is in great condition, and there are plenty of people here to verify that.

Carfax crash, murky history/poor follow up (either the owner is an idiot or he is acting like one...which is worse?), and definite $8-10k to repair the tranny. Figure a clutch too on top of that if it was abuse that led to the 2nd gear issue.

And yeah, the order guide calls it a "Turbo Power Kit 450HP"

A steal?

(Why would someone selling a $50k item say "I was told...." as opposed to "It has the X50 option- I looked under the hood, I had the P dealer run the vin"? I get nervous with car salesmen who have foggy recollections- an owner with lack of clarity is a problem.)

My X-50 has stock exhaust and the single tips.

Very good info!!! It's good to know that there are porsche people out there to help out with info prior to purchase.

Here's a nice seal grey I came across in PA:
