What should I offer on this 996 Turbo?

Hi all. Looking at a 2003 6 speed turbo that a local MB dealer has for sale. One owner car, seal grey, 7400 miles. Fairly lightly optioned, full black leather, no mods. Overall pristine condition, clean carfax. They are asking 69K. Thanks for your opininons.

Mid 60s and ask for an extended warranty.

Agreed, esp on a great extended warranty. Are you set on wanting a very low-mileage car? I feel like low mileage cars have had their factory warranty run out even before having a chance to exercise all the components fully. I've been targeting the 25k-45k miles range for an 02-03.

Not particularly looking at ultra low milage. Just happened to show up on lot as a trade and it looked interesting. How would I get extended warranty if seller is MB dealer?

Their used car dept probably has some aftermarket warranty companies that they sell. Or you can search around and buy an aftermarket warranty yourself. A typical warranty is around $2K for a 3 yr/100K total vehicle miles.

Porsche has NO extended warranty they sell.

There is a very LIMITED "CPO Warranty" they can put on a car if they CPO it...

I think you will find that most porsche dealerships are offering aftermarket warranties with their used sales.

Most decent aftermarket warranties- especially sold by an established high end MARQUE dealership- will exceed a cpo in coverage.

"High end used" dealers are different than an established MB dealer. The rash of high end used shops are just used car dealers moving metal however they can- if they sell you a bad warranty, they really don't care.

i am looking at a 2-owner seal grey/blk 6speed lightly optioned with clean carfax and 30K miles and I have no idea what to offer either. There has been such a wide fluctuation on these prices since december of 07, that I just dont know where my offer should be. Seller wants 50k for it. Any tips?

I would think an 03 with 7k on it would eventually sell for mid to high 60's...more towards high 60's. There are cars to be had for less, but im sure there are plenty of people out there willing to pay more for a car with less miles...and the dealership knows this.

Sounds right for a good condition 2002. 30K mile service completed is a plus. Be aware if it needs anything maintenance items like brakes or tires. If the rear spoiler has a problem then that can cost bucks to repair.
