Anybody running straight pipes? How loud and obnoxious does it get? I'm thinking of doing it, of course.

I don't have a Turbo but I did do the bypass pipes on my C2 and it was way to loud over any lenght of time for me.

We have a few customers with the straight pipes and yes, they are loud. Some people really like the sound and others can't stand it. I think it's a matter of personal preference. For me, I think it sounds awesome when you have a few P-cars coming down the street with straight pipes (http://www.akkuratpgi.com/events.html) July 24, 2004 at Blowfish (Santana Row)

 

I couldn't handle them. Even at the track they are to much for me. The pure unadulterated turbo spool up and spool down noise is pretty cool though. Expect dirty looks from your neighbors as well
