I had the pleasure of meeting Dan(owner of Vivid) in Houston at the Supra nats.
Dan seemed to be very open and honest,I personally have not purchased any products from Vivid but I would not have a problem buying products based on Dans character & honest demeanor.

What's up with the negativity Ohio? You seem to be following Dan around on different threads keeping the bashing alive. Kinda stalker-like.
From what I've seen as a member here for the past 2k posts or so Dan has a great rep and good products, and does a fine job helping guys out in the forums even when no sale is involved.
Who gives a rats a__ if something is made in USA or the dark side of Pluto? Unless you are some sort of expert in the field of metals, have done an electron particle analysis on China metal composition and 100% verified a positive match to Dan's product, all you are doing is speculating and asking people to buy into the BS bandwagon. It does not seem like what you are posting is helpful or constructive. As a matter of fact, the only solid and unarguable thing you've said in your posts is "what do I know.."- Exactly.

If Dan says something about his products I can't find a shred of reason not to believe him. My 5c. Let's move on-

I have purchased products from Dan at Vivid and have spoke to him on the phone about products for my Turbo S over the last two years. I have found him to be knowledgeable, honest, and trusting with regards to products and modifications that Vivid is marketing.

For example, I called Dan at 4pm on a Friday and he shipped the product within 15 minutes so I would receive it in a timely manner. Dan emailed me and followed up with my DIY install to ensure everything was working correctly and even offered me some good installation advice. Dan never alluded that this product offered any HP gains and is mostly cosmetic.

My last purchase went so well that I recommended the same product to some of my PCA Registry Turbo owners.

Since I am the National Advocate for Porsche Club of America Turbo Registry, I can not endorse any product, tuner or modification unless I have personal knowledge or experience (and it can not be given to me free of charge). My opinion of vivid is from personnel experience of products I paid for. Also, I have yet to have a PCA registry member speak badly of Vivid, Dan or any of there products.

OGT2-
If you are proven wrong, are you able to do the stand up thing and apologize? You don't have to like someone or even respect someone treat them right.

Btw, Work wheels are actually very high quality wheels. If you consider them BBS knock offs, then I guess so are Champion, Kinesis, Fikse, HRE and many others that use a Y-spoke design.

I'm getting pretty sick of all the vendor vs. vendor bull****...

I got sucked into it several times, and even started a few...

I've had a couple of claims checked out and so far what I've found in Dan's comments has been true...

I have a novel idea... If you don't want to buy from Vivid and Dan, DON'T!

But some of his parts are at the right price point and cut out the P-car tax... Some of his stuff is a little bling for me, but some of it functional... If you want to hammer things out offline, have at it, but leave the soap oprah off this site...

Mike

I have bought several items from Dan and I wish all vendors were as good as him to do business with.

Let's cut out the bashing on all sides. If members like the products being sold, buy them. If not, don't.

Pretty simple.

For the life of me Jamie I simply cannot understand why you have such a hard on for Dan. It reeks of some sort of twisted homo erotic obsession..

He has been nothing but fair with me and Tommy will be checking out the quality of the GT30 adapter kit as he is getting it tomorrow.

Who else is offering a quality kit for a reasonable price that allows someone to bolt on true 3076's?

Not everyone is in a position to ship their car to Todd.

I have purchased many items from Vivid in the last year and currently have 4 more on order. Dan has always given me good pricing and excellent service. I recently purchased a set of stock-diameter boost hoses to see if the left-side one from the compressor would allow me to clock the turbo further than the stock one would allow. It wouldn't and I was able to return the set for full credit to my AMEX without any hassle. That's the kind of company I like to do business with.

Ohio, I don't think the Republic of China requires the warning labels (in English) seen at the base of the CNC mill pictured earlier in this thread. In addition, all those silver thingies sure look to me a lot like diverter valve bodies.

Do your problems with Vivid stem from business dealings with them or are you just posting your opinion?

I would be more interested that the DV's worked well and had good reliability.
I'm sure if any of Vivid's products failed Dan would be the first to exchange or credit the customer, he has always been a pleasure to deal with.
I for one appreciate Dan and Vivids constant driving force to produce parts for our cars. It HELPS us!! I have personally dealt with Dan on many occasions (no affiliations) and he has always been as Steve states.
no real reason why a thread about a new diverter should digress into a testimonial page for Vivid. but it could.

Dan, please you and Vivid keep up the good work as and our cars appreciate it!!!

I have posted on a couple threads. I'm sure Dan is on about 50 threads right now...so no, I'm not following him around. No reason to. If I'm lacking entertainment, I'll read Jitsu's posts.

Read my previous posts....I also could care less about where stuff is made. If it's good, it's good. I only believe sponsors should be honest.

Actually, good old Sean already did that....

I purchased from Vivid/AP and all I can say are good things, they even put a tech on the line for me for a good 15-20 minutes for install when i needed help. The picture states 1,000 words. I think if you dont like a vendors product then dont buy from them, simple as that. No need to be a forum superhero.

Absolutely. I was told they produce small batches in the US and mass produce offshore by one of their CNC machinists....if what I was told was a lie, then of course I will apologize. But it would be highly unlikely he just made that up as it's not a big secret anymore that most aftermarket volume is produced overseas in order to remain price competitive.

I never said Work was a junk wheel. Read my post. I was commenting that it was odd that Dan, who sells them, can't tell the difference even when the BBS label is staring right at him...then ripping on the poor guy who pointed it out.
