996 Mesh Grilles
YOu'll get a host of people giving you links to 996GT3s or 997s. I had to order mesh and make my own.. They simply do NOT exist in the twin turbo and most folks apparently don't understand that the GT3s aren't interchangable with the Turbo.

There's a DIY thread on one of the forums that shows how one fellow made them out of the plastic rain gutter screen from Home Depot....it comes in black or silver....and actually it turned out very nice in spite of the pre-concieved notion you might have about gutter screen on a Porsche!
The price was right too! I think he said $6 or less for the materials.

I made mine out of 0.25" mesh galvanized birdscreen and zip tied the pieces to the slats from the inside of the front cover. Some might say it looks a bit white trash, but 1000 or so miles through Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana, that screen kept a load of debris off my radiators...BIG bugs, wood chips, straw, you name it.
Can anyone say how much the screen cuts down on the efficiency of the airflow to the radiators? I would imagine that there has to be some reduction depending upon how thick the wire mesh is. Did anyone who did this notice any increase in engine temps?

WROSS: did you ever post a picture of yours? I'm thinking of doing this as a winter project....and if you have any pics, I would appreciate seeing them. PM them if you don't want to post and risk a pro/con onslaught.
Chuck, My car was tracked after this instal and I saw no rise in coolant temps and saw no other indicators that there was an airflow issue.
