Treated My TT to A Cøcktail

I was up in Sonoma, so I stopped by Sears Point.

I already had half a tank of 91, so it averaged out to about 96. I can't honestly say I noticed very much of a difference. If anything, it was very subtle. I was expecting more after all the excitement some of you guys have expressed over 100 octane. What am I missing? Would it have ben that much better if I went in on empty?

It would have been better if you had a race gas tune to take advantage of the higher octane. Just putting race gas in it on a stock tune doesn't do much, if any, good.

My DME was modded, but nobody seems to be able to tell me who did it. Sharky even looked at it.

I have fvd chip and exhaust and I don't notice much of a difference when running 100 octane. I think it's just my wallet being a little lighter that adds the little performance!

the only benefit to running "fuel" is to run some more boost, and have a tune with more timing in it, to take advantage of it... If you notice a difference by just changing fuel, it's likely your present tune has too much timing and you are yanking timing and the fuel fixed that. just my .02...

As others have said, just dumping high octane fuel in won't do a thing. You need to either switch to your race program, or turn up the boost via a boost controller. Once you can adjust the car to take advantage of the race gas, it will make a large difference.

Once I tried race gas, I can't go back, because I know I'll be missing out on serious HP.

My tune changes with the fuel I put in. Whenever I run MS109 I notice a big improvement over running 93 octane.

I do notice differences when I use 100oct gas. I do believe EVOMSit handles different type of octanes.

I notice a really big difference in the summer when it is 115 degrees. The car won't pull timing with 100 octance, but will with 91 octane.

More Dramatic Tune Needed

You need a *complete* race tune with dramatically higher boost numbers to take advantage of the fuel. EVOMS has this nifty programming package that you'd really get a kick out of.

It will automatically adjust the tune depending on octane sensors. Different from the stock map which essentially brings timing in and out. EVOMS tune would then allow the dramatic increase in boost pressure when you put "trick" in the tank.

1.0 bar on K24's with 109 vs 93 won't do much for you. 1.25-1.35bar on 109 will probably create neck problems for both you and your passenger.

I assume that you have a VERY heavy duty clutch and basically no exhaust to begin with. With the K24's you'll have enough boost-optential to effectively kill the stock Porsche clutch. Pay Sharky to install the EVOMS "tune on the fly" package. Asking another tuner to "guess" who altered the ECU doesn't give either one of you what you really need.
