Intercoolers...
Ok...i think it is time for intercoolers...i have k24/18gs with tinjectors and still the stock ics...Should i get the GT2 ones?Should i get something else?i was about to buy B6 or simular from Dan but if the GT2 are ok...
GT-2 ICs are only ~10% more efficient than stock so its not worth the labor to change to them. I went with the EVOMs clubsports and have been pleased. The B6s are good too but I hear their service is not great.
Don't take the chance with Blown6...or you may get burned out of money and ICs like I have...
intercoolers
I have a set of blown 6 (brand new) and gt2 intercoolers due to me going further with my build I may be selling both and having some custom ones built.
could you give a reference for this data, thanks cause hard to believe that porsche would go to the trouble to make an entirely different intercooler for a GT car to run with with only a 10% bump in efficiency?

GT2 ICs are a waste...
you can get cores and have someone make the end tanks locally...

I first heard this from Stephen Kasper when I was comtemplating an upgrade. I have seen it many other times in discussions here and elsewhere like KPVs response this thread
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...olers-why.html
The reason I think Porsche did this was to design an intercooler that was adequate for the job but would easily fit in the available space. The small difference in stock 996TT hp and 996 GT2 hp did not justify a much better intercooler to Porsche, I presume. Of course Porsche did not allow for large HP increases with their IC design. I suspect they would prefer we all left the HP at stock levels...

Bottom line is that good intercoolers will help you make a bit more power...most importantly you car will run consistently.
I am going to try the EVOMS intercoolers soon after lots of re-search and hope for lower Intake Air Temps. I currently have custom ones we had made at Speed Gallery and my IAT's high. Better than stock but not were I want them. I have seen that the end tank shape is crucial. If you can get them at a good rate by themselves the Proto intercoolers are great too. He has had experiance building tanks. One thing I like about the EVOMS is that they install fairly easily and have shown good data in front of me on other cars.

I tried to go from my GT2 IC's to the VIVIDs but they wouldnt fit, so I also am still searching for an upgrade for the GT2, I guess now more then ever, thanks for the further input guys.
