Thrashed a modded Ducati 996!

LOL! As the title states, on my way home, in pump mode, Ducati 996 w/ exhaust (LOUD) merged on to the freeway. Looked at each other and gave a thumbs up!

Down-shifted into fourth around 70mph.. and then raged!!! Pulled HARD and left him about 6-8 car lengths behind and shut it off around 140mph!!

Duc rolls up next to me, and gives me a thumbs up!

GAWD I LOVE MY ****ING CAR!! GT700 or bust!!

Of course, the Duc rider obviously was not a pro and blah blah blah.. but the fact is, a CAR handed a liter bike its *** on a silver platter! And that makes me grin shamelessly!

Actually I did the same thing with a Busa from a roll in 2nd gear... We were side by side approaching a light when it turned green. We were doing about 30MPH and both coasting down... He nailed it, as did I, and we both ran thru the gears... I dropped him by over a bike length by 4th... He followed me at the next exit and followed me to the parkinglot where I was going and I was like "Hmmm this could get ugly".

He was very cool, very gracious and very much wanted to see under the hood... So I showed him the CD changer!

Props on beating one of the slowest bikes on the road.... I own a Duc 996. You've accomplished the equivalent of beating up a 7 year old

They're okay. Big step up over the hideous "9" series.

OK, now you're getting personal. The tripple 9s are a work of art. Fit & finish is light years ahead of the new 'Japanese' bikes.

Ummmm okay.... how long was the 916,996,998 series run (95-04)? now how long was the "9" series run (03-06)? Why so short?

Last but not least, what does the new 1098 look like? a 996 or a 999? Ducati was smart enough to do a complete 180 from the 9 series design. Although the performance was good, the 9 series was easily the most ugly bike Ducati every produced.
