Part 2 is germaine to the topic at hand, but part 1 is included for additional laughs. Its Alabama, but it borders GA.

You know, I'm surprised that this got such negative comments... I'm from the south... It's a "stereotype" we all deal with... But the TOP GUN episode linked above is quite telling.

It's not about outsmarting.
The main purpose of these people seems to be to collect revenue for the county.
2 weekends ago some of these local heroes blocked off a gas station and gave every biker leaving the gas station a ticket. "To protect and to Serve"
Why should I treat such people with respect ? The net of it is, there are no rules or etiquette to be followed when dealing with these individuals. They are hardly any better than the criminals they are supposed to 'control'.
By all means, this is legalized highway robbery.

...Unfortunately, I'm "in the know" a little with my own county government and I know that officers throughout our region have been instructed to step up citations with one goal in mind: REVENUE.
Countys and States are hurting big time right now and will look to speeders for added surpluses!

I can't be THAT bad!
Actually there are very few places in Detroit that would bother me getting lost in. Esp. in a P-car and/or at 3AM. (Stay away from 6 mile & Southfield)

My question is, how do you register cars in America with foreign driver licenses?
You gotta teach me that trick!
And No, getting lost in the rural south is not that scary! These people have some sense, I am black, and found myself in some weird places in Mississipi and Tennessee, if you present yourself with some decency and demand respect, they'll give you the same back.
You get lost in some places in Detroit in a Porsche, i can guarantee you that you will walk back home naked (If your clothes have any value).

I think you guys are missing the point.
The problem here is a PIG trying to give out BS tickets.
Getting convicted of street racing in GA is an automatic 1 yr license suspension. Plus ridiculous fines

I immediately smelled BS when the guy started talking.
Since his radar was not on (i.e. he couldn't give us speeding tickets), I knew that his only options were racing or reckless driving. Hence the way we acted.
And yes, it's really bad out there. Unfortunately not everybody can defend themselves against these acts of intimidation or harassment. My heart goes out to the poor 20 year old kid in a ricer with a fart can who gets pulled over.
Another area of cop abuse is the 'Tail of the Dragon'. I was there last month and hardly went above 40mph. Cops everywhere...
Check out this website :

There's some great stories on there (including photographic evidence) of State Trooper misbehavior.
