I've never seen a low mileage, good condition 550 for under $130K.

TT993 is infamous around these parts
The 550/575 is priced too high for what it is. For performance oriented folks you can get a murci for a bit more, or a diablo 6.0 used. If you want luxury there is always aston martin, bentley going for less than the maranello. The resale on these cars took a huge hit already, so now is a good time to buy used.

any reason why? I have looked at the 2 cars extensively and the changes may amount similarly to a 2001 TT vs a 2002 x50 TT. please enlighten me

That's ok because I think it's hard to call any nearly 2 ton car a sports car.
Wow, did not realize it's so heavy...

I have not had much seat time in the f-cars but would say that the 360 has a similar feel to the TT. The 575M is definitely a touring car with endless torque. I like the 575M and will get either that or the 550 because of the tremendous value (used), leer jet like amenities and beautiful lines. I probably would be more interested in a 360 spider if it wasn't so overpriced or if the Modena's rear wheels were pushed about 6 inches forward.

I think that the 360 gets the attention due to its commonness (approx 1000 US cars/year + euro imports) and its styling including the visible engine display.
