At what point does the clutch need to be upgraded?

At what point does the clutch need to be upgraded?

Is a stock clutch okay for a k-16 flash only? Is the pressure plate the weak link, or is it the disc?

We have had some customers clutches go out with a standard K16 flash. What matters is how many miles are on that stock clutch and what kind of abuse it has received. I would do a search for Clutch Masters on the site and read about some of the people that have replaced their OEM units with this. If you intend on keep modding and driving hard, you will want to upgrade soon.

My FVD Stage II killed my stock clutch in a matter of weeks. I agree with Dan , depends on how far you go with the mods. 9 times out of 10 , A flash is not enough and you will be looking for more soon.Save yourself some money and know what you want from the car before you do the clutch.

Ive had the GIAC flash on k16's for 4 years and 20k miles. No problems whatsoever. I don't abuse my car though, and rarely, if ever do hard launches in 1st gear.

new heavy-duty clutch needed 800 miles after a k16 flash...

new clutch is needed.

I haver 25K miles on a K24 car. Modded to the max. Still going strong. Just have to be nice to the clutch. Although I believe that around 30K is usually the limit on most modded cars.

mose55 is infamous around these parts
14k miles on stage II, including 30 days on track over the past 2 years...still doing well. I never launch hard in first...

I wiped out a clutch with10K on a K16 flash. But I would not change it until it starts slipping.
