I have flash/chipped my 2005 CTS-V (LS6) for a gain of 55 HP. It is tuned for the head and cam package that is going in this week.

Drag racer beware. You know how these guys are. They find satisfaction in saying they only have a chip when really they have adding a thousand monkeys under the hood and don't want you to know it. They will boast after they beat you and say you lost to a chipped viper and remind you how bad your car is. Look out sunny boy.

But stephen, what about the M3. You can spend $3,499,899.09 on a Dinan chip for 3 crank HP.

I believe they dropped their price by 50% once Upsolutely's $500 chip produced the same results!!! But of course, I'd never put a $500 chip in my M3...
Howdy Folks!
I'd have to agree with item quoted below - I've seen a number of tuned LSx C5's and spent alot of time on the dyno myself (had a buddy in town with a speedshop and free dyno time).
Where a tune/"chip" _might_ uncork an existing head/cam package to the tune of (no pun intended
) 40-ish HP, a tune alone just isn't going to do it.
You might zero out your LTFT's for improved WOT, get a little more timing, especially if you're running 93+ octane, but I've never seen more than about 10-12 on a stock car, and more than about 15-ish on a bolt-on car (headers, intake) - again, talking NA LSx type vehicles. I realize there's a massive amount of power available for FI cars (I had a Supra that dynoed at 360RWHP with just some hoses pulled/bypassed).
Probably just a mis-communication about the ECU upgrade as a stand-alone performance enhancement, vs. it's effect in the grand scheme of the entire head/cam/header/etc., package.
Good luck with it - OOC, who's doing the package for you?
Great thing about the CTS-V is the wide range of LSx derived performance parts - all sorts of H/C combinations, not to mention larger CI packages, and I'm sure FI kits modified for CTS-V use coming soon.
Cheers!

Oh and Howdy Alex! Yeah, I'm kind of lurking and starting my research on 996/TT's - one of my weekend car replacement options (very high, on the very short list right now...)

Wish I had the means to acquire a TT now, but until then I'm just here to learn
