Some sort of coilovers...depending on what you want to do with the car.

First mod is updating that Avatar! I think exactly what he said - pump, injectors, bigger lines. If you got a welder, you can see how the Proto intake is and just change your setup, the biggest reason that is done is with the Ford MAF.

You never did respond to the question from Tom K earlier in this thread. What are your intentions? All street, street and some drag racing, street and some road course driving? You would get more pertinent advice if we knew those answers.

Al, I have spoken to Christian alot, so I am pretty sure he wants just a powerful street car. I dont think he is as aggressive into road racing as you and Tom.

silvershark, I'd upgrade to the 997TT tranny bushings (and plan to do this soon) and the WEVO Blue motor mounts.

Mike I did the WEVO quite some time ago and made for better shifting in hard sweepers.

I was told (but need to confirm) that the WEVO Blue mount is comperable to the RS mount. Only difference is supposed to be the bolt/stud/hardware. The Wevo is about $200 cheaper but you have to source a longer bolt for it to work properly with the TT.

Thanks Mike. The mount/s on the WEVO website look to be good quality (at least looking at them). I purchased some RS mounts recently, plan to install shortly…..(the casting quality of the RS mounts look very average at best).

Mike, can you tell me were you can find the "longer bolt" needed for the WEVO blues? Why is it that Wevo does not offer the kit for the 996 with a longer bolt? I am looking into getting stiffer mounts for the upcoming DEs but am curious as to why Wevo doesnt list there mounts for the 996 models, if they do in fact fit.

McMaster Carr or Fastenal is your best source. I use grade 8s... Not sure why they don't offer anything specific to the 996 platform, but it's still the best bet going for an inexpensive bushing replacement for the crap OEM units!

How much are these tranny mounts and where did you guys get them? Do they sell motor mounts too?

Thanks for the quick reply Mike. Do you recommend the blues or the black motor mounts for a daily driver/occasional track events.

Is the 997 tranny mount an upgrade or is it the same part as the 996?
