The service, and build quality alone would keep me away.

I think like any manufacturer it's all up to the individual dealer. As you've notice alot of people have gotten bad service at porsche. This GT will be an exception to their normal build quality IMO. You don't build a car like this w/ shody work.

Get the GT
The Ford GT is a fantastic car. An incredible bargain. There is world-class race engineering built in to this car. You would have to add some extraordinary mods to a 911 Turbo to equal this car in suspension, braking and overall performance.
I say get the Ford. It will be a collectors item for sure. If it's attention you want, attention you will get. It's a stunning car.
If you have not seen the Top Gear Ford GT video, I highly recommend you watch it.

Like many others, I would take the Ford GT knowing full well used TTs are a dime a dozen and are enjoying rapid depreciation as a result. So, you can easily get another later if you decide to make a buck on the GT. However, if service is remotely as lame as it is on my F150, you are probably going to have some diminished value issues as you receive the car back with new marks everytime you take it in. Also, if it's like the new F150, there will probably be several design flaws which service will tell you are "normal" and about which they can do nothing.

I'm not for sure what I would do, it would depend on how it drove? If it drives like the last car that I had a blower on...tough call. It would have to drive really special for me to trade my TT.

You cannot compare this car to any other Ford. It may say Ford, but it's in its own league.

This car is is made by the same folks who brought us the SVT Cobra. Special? I don't think so.
Take your Cobra into the dealer and the ONE guy trained to work on it might know how to treat it right and/or work on it, but maybe not.
I've had three Fords, and the last thing I'd own is one of their sports cars.

Finally, a 996 Turbo is a relative bargain compared to the Ford GT. Chip your Turbo and you have comparable straight line performance and an additional $80,000+ in the bank.

In the latest motor trend they tested the Ford GT, Enzo, CGT together. The Ford GT ran 11.1@130 and hit 200mph, basically neck and neck with the the Carrera GT. The ford costs about a third of the porsche. It's going to take a lot more than a chip to get anywhere near those times for a TT. MSRP is 150k for the Ford GT, so i dont know where your 80k in the bank is comming from.
