i kinda thought if i had my turbos rebuilt they would include check valves. my local porsche dealer said they had zero in stock and had not sold a check valve in 4 years i gather they insure unrestrucked flow to the turbos am i correct?
they are not cheap either... but whay are u even trying to replace them? I have a feeling ur tuner/ turbo rebuilder advised?

the word was never replace a turbo without replacing the check valve. which i did not do when i added the newest turbos the lasted maybe 8000 miles

Agreed, my latest set of turbos came with new check valves. If something grenades, less risk of contaminating the new turbos. Also, change your oil, pull the fuel fuse and turn the engine over until fresh oil comes out the lines that connect to the check valves.
From Kevin at turboflatsix:
http://www.turboflatsix.com/destroy-new-set-t194.html
"These check valves were originally installed on a '02 996TT. The owner purchased a new set of K24's. Instead of ordering new check valves, the old ones were installed. One can notice that the valves is/are a two piece design. A stainless steel screen is used to filter out debris from entering the turbochargers bearing system.
When one makes the decision to re-use the check valves, you risk disrupting the filter screen layers. The debris migrates into the turbochargers. Bearing failure is 100%
Why does someone spend $2,500 to $3K on a set of K24's and then mounts the old valves."
My guess is that Kevin has worked on perhaps 50 TIMES as many turbochargers than niello's mechanic

I just installed the AFI turbo adapter kit and of course some new GT 3076's....I am trying to find out if the check valves were also replaced.
Anyone know if the check valves came w/ the kit?
