First Impression After ICs and Plenum Installed
Last Thursday (and early Friday), SharkWerks installed the EVO ICs and IPD 70mm Plenum on my TT and I picked her up later on Friday (Alex, James, Dan, thank you for staying late on Thursday to get them done). Since there were traffics, I couldn’t really test to see any differences. However, I noticed an additional growling sound when she accelerates.
Before the ICs and plenum, my car goes really strong from 0-100 and flattening around 115. I’m sure that has much to do with the gearing since she is a Tip, but the restricted air flow on the OEM ICs (the end tank looked so badly) and the T-shape plenum sure were not helping.
This morning, the weather was fair so I took her out for a couple of pulls on a back road. May be it was psychological… the car did feel pulling stronger from100-130, she was still going and I had to let go the gas because I was running out of road.
Sorry, I don’t have numbers to support this. I have read someone mentioned a dyno can be performed on a Tip but the ECU needs to be fooled, which it is not something that I want to do. I’m wondering if anyone in the Bay Area has a P-box I can borrow (I sold mine).

I would be interested in V Box numbers too.
After I put in EVOMS ICs, I noticed boost quit flatening out at high rpm in higher gears. I thought this was probably happening due to constrictive stock ICs.
