2005 997 S $101,000!!!!

I visited the new Shelton Porsche in Naples and they had a black 997 S on the floor which caught my eye.

I sat in the car and was mildly impressed thinking for $80 or so thousand its not bad.

I go to look at the sticker and see $101,232 and ask why in the name of God would anyone buy this when they could buy a low mile 2003 Turbo for the same money?

It's insanity. The base S models that all dealers got last week were 99.3K. All exactly the same. Still at least 10K overpriced at that point. Porsche has lost its mind.

Within 3 months they will be knocking $15k off sticker at the drop of a hat. All my friends who had deposits for these cars are getting hot boxed by the dealers to take em. They see the future.

15k no way. however, because of the internet, if one dealer doens't hold the line it'll eventually benefit all of us. just a matter of time...

nuff said. 996 TT is the way to go.

I cannot understand how anyone could pick a car that looks like a beetle for way more cash than a well maintained 2002 996 TT. Also, once bought, a TT won't burn as much cash as a 997 S during the next 6 months.

If you need even more power than what the standard TT has to offer, then get a TT-X50... but IMHO a 997 S is the very last option to be considered... unless you're a VW-fanatic.

Sorry...I don't mean to hijack this tread in any way, but does anybody know anything about this dealer: Luxury Motors? I'm looking at a C4 coupe that they have for sale....

Thanks

You know, I keep seeing a happy face when I look at that 997 nose photo above. I even see teeth!! Take a look...............

Eyes are obvious.
Nose is the crest.
Upper teeth are in the middle section at the top of the center opening (lighter color)

Herbie the LoveBug lives again!!!!!!!!!!!
