Smile AMP Needs Our Help

To the moderators: I really didn't know where to start this thread but since this is the most-attended segment of 6Speed, I chose it.

Atlanta Motorsports Park has been on the drawing board for quite a while now. It is a proposed multi-use park near Dawsonville, GA wich is approximately 45 miles north of Atlanta. http://www.atlantamotorsportspark.net/

The land is currently undergoing application for re-zoning and at the hearing on December 15th, 2008, a newly-revised application was presented but was not taken to a vote at that time. The planning board wanted time to review it. Their main concern was noise polution. In the revised application it is my understanding that the noise level is suggested to be capped at 103db.

I am going to list the e-mail addresses of those on the planning board. I hope you with an interest in this project coming to fruition will send a note to these people explaing, in your own words, why you feel something like this is needed.

Thank you all for your support. The next hearing is January 26th, 2009

peckerwood1@alltel.net
jcprice@alltel.net

I believe all the addresses to be correct, even that of Mr. Wood.

I don't mind not getting any responses to this plea but the important thing would be that some of you send, or have sent, e-mails to these people in support of a new motorsports facility in the Atlanta area.

I hope some of you will take the time to write a short note to these people in support of a new track. I know the first name on the list is incorrect and I have no other to suggest but hopefully the rest of the addresses are valid; even the one to peckerwood.

Maybe list the names too, so a writer can address the recipient by correct name?

That's a great idea but I haven't seen any documents with their names on it. I didn't put any salutation; just the body and sig.

Here's the latest update on Atlanta Motorsports Park. There are some additional addresses to contact (along with some corrected ones). Please help.

I am unable to make the e-mail copy to the forum. If anyone is interested, please send me an e-mail and I will forward the update to you

I just got an e-mail from someone stating he "heard it passed", meaning the rezoniing application for Atlanta Motorsports Park. That's great news!
