Put the hardtop from my old 996 C2 on my TT Cab, the only difference being the difference in color between the 2 cars.
Too much bling for my taste, gosh , I feel like a rapper. Gonna have to paint that thing Speed Yellow.

Hey check on craigslist or ebay I used to see them on there all the time back in the day! You'd need to get it painted but still

Thanks Sharky! I'm trying to get one with the same color first; if not then I'll look into a diff. color and then get it painted. I do like the look with a hard top.

Maybe I can get 2 mph faster with the better aerodynamics.

That's not bad. I like it. It looks so different than anything I've seen.

It sure looks different, bumble bee different It might look busy in the eyes of us car guys. But might look cool to others.
My Solara's top started to leak in a lil bit since this winter. Lucikly I'm in L.A., but this experience kindda drives me away from soft top convertible. Nvr the less I can half way imagine how nice it feels owning a TTcab

I think it would look pretty cool if the wheels were powdercoated/painted black. Maybe some nice blacked out Techart wheels with a yellow stripe around the rim. But if you were to keep the wheels as is, then yes paint the top.

Hideous is too harsh--your car does not look that bad with the hardtop. But not being a rapper or any other sort of celebrity--I'd change something too. Either black wheels with yellow stripe as has been suggested or paint the hard-top speed yellow as you suggested. The lines look great with the shape of the hard top.

Make sure if you buy a HT that the interior headliner color matches the interior of your car.

That's covered. It's black on black. It's just the outside of the HT that's bothering me.
Might just have my rims powdercoated matte black, leaving the lip chrome. Should also be stellar in Summer with the top down.
