Turbo Lag with New Exhaust

I recently installed an aftermarket exhaust (to remain nameless) that had a few thousand miles on it from a friend (ECU is stock). I am now experiencing significant turbo lag in the low rpm ranges until about 4K rpm where the boost kicks in normally. If the O2 sensors were installed incorrectly would this trigger a check engine light? Any thoughts on possible causes/solutions?

I hope nothing was inside the exhaust to keep things from getting in it during transport. Hopefully nothing is still in there.

Since the exhaust mates right up to the turbos, there are a variety of issues that could be occuring. As stated there could be some shipping material in the exhaust but that should have burned out. A more reasonable reason could be a cracked exhaust gasket/seal between the exhaust and turbo housing. I suggest you remove the exhaust and check things out again. Good luck and please let us know what the problem turns out to be.

Sounds like it could be an exhaust leak pre turbo.
