Switzer Performance
update
I have several hundred miles on the car now. Things have settled in and I have been able to drive familiar areas a few times to gauge differences and similarities in this car and others.
Damn thing is such a pleasure.
The suspension is just awesome, (although that is not Tym's work) but it is such a pleasure to drive this car fast. I have very little body roll, almost instantanious communication through the wheel and throttle, and even though there is only 1 fingers gap between tire and fender, never rubs or bump stops. KW 3 rocks. I wish I knew who set this up.
First, and I know I need a moving clip....the sound is just right. Very throaty and deep, but not so loud it is intrusive. You always hear it, but it never becomes too much and to my ear, and the droning is non existant except for a blip around 3200rpm and just for a second. As I mentioned earlier, I dont really like the sound of 6cyl cars that much but this set up makes the best of it for sure.. It is one of the best sounding pcars that I have heard.
Since I dont do timed miles and have no place to go 130 except the long straight at Thunderhill. I can easily say this car is fast enough for all the thrills and needs I have. I will be able to take it to the track soon and I think it will be a beast, any more power would just be a distraction. Full throttle is a handful no doubt! I have an old school tt that weighs 500 lbs less, has 100 more hp and is scary fast. This car is not much off the pace, is focused and provides, to my mind, perfect response and performance. Of course, the lack of torque at lower rpms leaves me wanting a bit but then again, what a wonderful safety factor. Keeps me out of trouble. We used to have govenors on our go carts to keep from wrecking and the lack of low end torue accomplishes the same end, with any grace!
Tym told me this was only the beginning but for my needs it does the job just right. Many thanks for a perfect setup my friend!
Besides the 12cyl tt set up is about to be unleashed.............but more on that later
