HELP! Can anyone tell me where my thread "Exhaust with Boom?" has gone to? Or am I just too dumb to find it?

There was a lot of valuable info in it, so if it got deleted, I'll go mad! (Because I didn't have the time to make up a list of possible exhausts for my TT from that thread yet).

 

I think it got deleted!!! Some heavy hitting in that thread because of exhaust bashing.

 

Damn... there was a hell of a lot of info and links to soundfiles, videos and manufacturers homepages in that thread. Why didn't they just delete the posts that were OT and leave the rest up?

Could some mod restore the thread and send it to me via PM... or something like that? Or is that technically too complicated or difficult... or so?

Yeah, un-warranted destruction of a businesses reputation via a bashing feeding frenzy does little good for anyone...imo

 

If you were out the money and mislead would it still be unwarranted?

 

Perhaps not, but when everybody jumps in and tag team "Kent State's" the company, I think it's a little unfair. It seems whenever there is a post like this, a frenzy of pirhanna's jump in, even though they don't necessarily have a legitimate beef with the company. To me that is not right...just my opinion of course.

Parker and Rocketman: Parker your response to my raising of the issue of censorship is an interesting one: I have been one of the strongest supporters of Fabspeed products on this board. I still am; I think they are great products and I have virtually no complaints about them. This thread was started by a guy looking for info on systems; his thread was, in my opinion, hijacked by a guy with a beef with Joe and frankly by Joe answering the charges leveled at him. They should take it elsewhere. But the questions Marx had were valid and should have, along with responsive posts, been left on the board. Frankly, this board is getting filled more and more with guys pissing and moaning about how they have been screwed by this and that vendor or shop. Don't get me wrong, this board has served a valid function in helping rid the marketplace of certain bad apples. But, in the case of Fabspeed, for example, they have been around a long time and they, like many of the other exhaust system providers, provide a great product. Their name is on the product they manufacture. That isn't true with many of the other systems on the market. I'm a lawyer, if someone has failed to perform a contract with you, there are a lot of things that can be done to seek redress; bad mouthing is about the least effective. Frankly, about all it does is set you up for a slander claim. Bottom line: give people the freedom to say what they want but when you speak use common sense and be thoughtful of the interests of the forum.

 

Bucking, I totally agree with you. The problem I think lies within the ability to delete certain posts versus an entire thread. i think each reply could have been edited and deleted - leaving the appropriate posts alone - but the thread turned out to bee overrun... the jacked posts were outnumbering the inital topic, and hence the thread itself was deleted. I'm not sure the exact criteria used by the admins here, best to wait for them to respond to a PM if you're so inclined.

Its just too bad some of the posters had to go as far as they did. The thread was in fact useful.

Parker - sometimes it is just very difficult and time consuming to muster through all the replies and some just fall casualty to the bad apples who ruin good threads - Hopefully the thread will get back up and running the way it was at first......
