Thanks, Guys! I've been wanting one of these for a long time and looked into the Getty aftermarket version many years ago. I learned they never produced it and did not intend to. When Toms came along and it was OEM in the right color it was a great find. I had wanted to order my car this way, but at the time of the initial order, it was not an option, then during the build time it became an available option that I became aware of, but it was too late for me to add it. Finally...

 

Looks really great, John!! If you're like me, you were probably blown away with the difference it made in the looks department. It's amazing what a new decklid will do to change the whole appearance of the car. I think you and I are the only 2 who have retrofitted Aerolit decklids...congrats!

Looks Great John! Is there any difference in the weight?

 

I did not weigh them, but the original lid had an aluminum hydraulic fluid reservoir tank beneath the panel and misc. hoses, along with the two pistons, but the aerokit has a much larger, therefore heavier wing. They felt similar in weight, maybe a slight edge to the aerokit version, but close in weight.
