Trade it for a 6 speed?
Just kidding...
Have you tried NOT stomping on the pedal? I've heard that if you just slowly modulate the pedal down it will take off faster, instead on pushing the pedal right to the floor all at once...

Hold the brake and run up the RPM's to about 2700 and launch it. Try it a few times and you'll be able to do it with out spinning. But you might be AWD and you might not spin at all. I spin since I'm RWD.

Todd, what if you are rolling, like say 30-40mph, and you stomp on it. Does it kickdown and go, or is there a short delay and slowly spool? At 30-40, should you just smack it to 1/2 throttle until it starts to go and then push it the rest of the way?
I always run in Manual if I'm racing or trying a 60/130. If I drop to 2nd at 35 and nail it, it will spin. Lately I've been in 3rd at about 35 and "break boosting" to run up to .8-.9 bar and THEN launch full throttle and by 60 I'm flying. It's still a work in progress. BTW, I got nailed with radar at 136. I didn't get pulled over tho. I was in Mexico.
The fastest way that I know of from stand still is...
1. Turn off the PSM - it would kick in if the wheels spin, my car is AWD. It always kicked in from stand still; some times it kicked in when shift to 2nd gear from rolling start.
2. Click down to 1st gear; leave it on D, not M (the Tip knows when to shift better than you)
3. Hold your brake with one foot
4. Gas it until 2700-3000
5. Let go the brake and step on it. You will get wheels spin, but when they catch on, it goes.
I believe Car & Driver does it the same way with their road tests, with cars without launch control.

I've been practicing my 60-130's myself. No traction here though, when I break boost and let off the brake it goes sideways...
