Evoms intake blowing maf why ?????
Evoms intake blowing maf why ?????
Am getting all the problems mentioned in PSM & ABS search "MAF".
And before I buy a new MAF and have to get rid of the exspensive intake kit, I would like to know why this happens ???
To free flowing causing to much air going past MAF and voltage reads to high resulting in blown MAF ?
It isn't oil as the filter isn't oil based like a K&N
Thanks
Darren

I am currently having the same problem...and trying to figure out if it is better to go stock or get the Hitachi upgrade. Anyone know how much for the MAF and program?

^^ours and a friend with a the same year as our pcar had the same problem as us. after installing, our CEL would come on..then go off....etc. we cleaned everthing, made the sure everything had been correctly installed but it didn't get any better. our mechanic told us to have it uninstalled before it caused any more problems.
that's just 2 instances that i know of personally. i know many people have used K&N and have had good luck and are very happy with the result. maybe the 99 996's are extra sensitive to having the CAI installed. not sure.

The issue is the oil in the filter. You can remove the oil and run them dry. Evoms filters probably come with more oil in them than the other filters available. Their are some high performance dry filters available.
No I was never told to, when I looked at it it look like it was part of the casing.
Company I bought it of said they will swap it for the agency power intake don't know if it is any better performance wise ? but also concerned about the K&N now..
