Guys should the wastegate rod on the top turbo be bent the way it is. I got my turbos back from blouch with virtually no packaging just wanted to correct it prior to install if needbe.

I think he means the end of the rod by the flapper. as long as the flapper is closed as it sits, your good.

The dog-leg bends in the rods where they exit the actuator are normal. But the bend at the end of the rod (upper turbo) is not normal. Bummer dude...it needs to go back to Blouch. If you need it for this weekend, I have a spare set of WGs you can use.

Chris,

I really appreciate that offer. The thing that pisses me off is that there was virtually no peanuts/packaging in the box that came from Blouch. uuugh! my car is at the shop having all of the other bits and pieces taken care of and I was going to get these to the shop in the a.m. I may just take you up on the wastegate offer. Any chance my installer could remedy the problem himself?

you know its funny both of the wastegate flaps are closed however it just doesnt' look normal I notice one of yours has a bend near the valve and one doesn't just like mine. It just doesn't seem normal to me. I guess i'm a little paranoid considering the packaging that was used.

Try the action on the actuator. You should be able to manually move the rod up and down. Does the flapper in the turbine housing open and shut smoothly when you move the rod up and down?

The bend is in the all-thread section of the rod. THe more you bend it, the weaker it gets, so the problem with straightening it is that it will weaken it. A decent mechanic can tell you if can be straightened and if it will be strong enough once straightened. The other issue is that the bend may have thrown off the adjustment. The WG actuation will need to be checked to verify that the two turbos open synchronously.

Damn this is frustrating the more and more I look at the turbos the one with the bent rod has more and more wrong with it. It looks like the wastegate rod is actually resting against the housing.
