Question Help, with drip under car.

I was putting the trash out this morning and saw a spot on the floor about the size of a nickel. It was black (dark) and felt like oil... It had dripped off the sideskirt right behind the front right wheel well. I was heading into work and did not have time to look into it. I did do a quick look around the car and nothing else.

Any thoughts...

Sounded like oil till you said it was located behind the front wheel. Perhaps a leak from a coolant line, AC condensation, or power steering???

I hear you on the color and texture, but engine oil does not run to the front of the car since there is no oil cooler up there. Thats why I say it could be hydraulic fluid from the power steering system or coolant/ condensation mixed with grease and dirt. When did you drive the TT last??? Could it be something from the road??

Max,

I know the engine oil does not go up front.. Just used that to describe what it looked like. I drove it yesterday for a while. It is not from the road... Does not look like coolant... maybe power steering fluid.... I also had what appeared to be water dripping out my drivers side wheel well a while back right after I stopped. It was obvious that was water. This was on the other side and dripped down off the very front of the sideskirt.

Don't know I will have to see what is there when I get home... I guess a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Could it be that one of your shock valves blew? Or maybe a boot up front?

Drove the car last night for about 30 miles or so with some good bursts of speed...
